- WHAT ARE LINKEDIN MEMBERS SAYING ABOUT JACKI LYON'S BOOKS?
LinkedIn Groups Group: Great Books Group Wow -- loved the Marriage of Silence and Sin; I just finished it and plan to reread it immediately. This time I want to focus on Elle - her few words, her actions, her silence. The characters were so well-defined; I find creating believable characters and strong dialogue to be the most difficult task in writing. Need to brush up on Austen so that I connect with those allusions. But I thought it was brilliant the way you brought Shelley's themes into the 21st century. Congratulations - your book is brilliant.
- Your book/story is riveting! I've written that "I've finished....." BUT, the story will remain with me for a long, long time! At the end...my heart rate/blood pressure was UP and RACING in the wee hours of the morning! Other than one movie I've seen in my lifetime....this is the only other story that left me feeling every emotion humanly possible! It made me sad, happy, laugh and scared to death! My B/P raised....as did my pulse and this was at 1am., so sleep was disturbed by my thoughts as I finished the final page. The book/story is magnificent!
- Dear Jacqueline Lyon,
I wanted to thank you for sending me a copy of The Marriage of Silence and Sin, which I read with great pleasure. I especially liked the way you interwove the Frankenstein creation myth with the father-daughter incest story from Shelley's Mathilda. And I found the relationship between Dicey and Gale particularly compelling.

- I received this as a First Reads giveaway, and finished the entire book during one good day of reading. I was immediately drawn into the story, and was fascinated by it all the way through. Lyon wove all the threads of the Art and Literature of the Romantic Period along with mystery, intrigue, terror, and humor into a well-crafted tapestry that delighted and entranced me as a reader.

Shelves: arc-books-received - Spent the whole morning in bed reading your book! Could not put it down once I really got started. LOVED IT! I can't believe the suspense you created, the story line is unbelievable (but believable!) Thanks God it all turned out to be a happy ending, I was a little worried there towards the last chapter! Congratulations.

- I read the first 120 pages or so in your book. I'm very, very much enjoying it! The mythological allusions with Pandion & Tereus were provocative and Daimon (demon) maybe? All the verses and quotes from the Romantics to start the chapters are really interesting and fun, hinting at what's ahead but still oblique enough (for me, anyway). I'm kinda slow, but I just realized that we never hear Elle's actual voice...at least I don't think I have yet, have I? Something Frankenstein-ian with the plastic surgery...a good time.
